We’re in the thick of summer but it’s time to think about fall planting!

Bulbs are easy to plant and they provide the earliest spring color with very little care. We’ve gathered some pleasing combinations to make planning and planting bulbs easy. Along with our bulb combos, we’ve included suggestions for shrubs and perennials to complement each collection. All of these bulbs, perennials, and shrubs are spring bloomers. Use the designs provided as-is or as a jumping-off point to add spring color to your existing landscape.

  • Bulbs can be planted in October and November.
  • Plant in holes two to three times deeper than the height of the bulb. Our collections are designed for 5-20 bulbs to be planted in a cluster per single hole. Individual bulbs can also be planted using a bulb dibber or sod plugger.
  • Plant bulbs pointy-side up!
  • Plant bulbs in soil that drains well.
  • Water in and mulch your bulbs. If squirrels and other diggers are a problem in your garden lay chicken wire over the area before adding mulch.
