A vigorous, upright, bushy perennial that is primarily grown for its attractive lavender flowers which appear over a long bloom period, unlike other Swedish ivy species. This hybrid is the result of a breeding program carried out in the late 1990s at Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden in Cape Town, South Africa. Tubular, two-lipped, lavender flowers bloom in spikes to 6” long and glossy, ovate, dark green leaves are purplish below. A prominent local butterfly expert recommends this as an excellent pollinator plant!
