‘Sky Trails’ Serbian Spruce

Picea omorika 'Sky Trails'

A lovely spruce with a graceful weeping habit and silver banding on the undersides of the needles. Nice for screening as it is always full and lush all the way to the ground, this narrow conifer also makes a beautiful accent. ‘Skylands’ is slow-growing, upright, tree that typically grows 8-10′ tall over the first 10 years, possibly reaching 35′ tall with a spread of 10-12′ wide. Exterior needles are bright yellow in full sun or yellow-green in part shade that fades in summer. Attractive red cones in spring.

According to Missouri Botanical gardens, ‘Skylands’ was introduced by Skylands Botanical Garden in New Jersey in 1979.
