string of pearls

Senecio rowleyanus

This unusual-looking succulent sprawls over container edges in strands resembling a beaded necklace, with fleshy green, pea-like foliage. Strands can grow very long! Water thoroughly one week and then skip the next week or two. Watering too often can cause root rot, so be sure to let the soil dry out at least half an inch or so between waterings. In winter, cut watering back to once monthly. String of pearls grows well in bright light.
