Beautiful and pet-safe plants with stunning, unique, long, wavy green leaves with a brushstroke pattern resembling snakeskin. It raises and lowers leaves from day to night, a phenomenon called nyctinasty and the reason it’s nicknamed prayer plant.
Calatheas thrive in medium to bright indirect light, but can tolerate low indirect light. Water every 1-2 weeks allowing soil to dry out between waterings. Calatheas prefer temperatures in the 65°F-85°F range of their tropical habitat. It’s best not to let the temperature go below 60°F (15°C) to avoid cold damage. A native perennial from Brazil.

• Wilting, curling leaves are an indication of underwatering, or lack of adequate humidity.
• Yellowing leaves are an indication of overwatering.
• Leaf spots can be a sign of fungal infection or mineral build-up from tap water. Avoid leaf spots by using distilled water and water under foliage.
• Plant pests can include mealybugs, fungus gnats, and spider mites which can be treated with Neem with Spinosad.
• Feed with Arber or Espoma tropical plant food.
