The hardy forms of hibiscus are valued for their showy late-summer display of enormous blooms. Plants form an upright, bushy mound well suited to the back of a perennial border. ‘Lord Baltimore’ has huge brilliant red blooms, and plants tolerate average to wet conditions in full sun. Dies back completely to the ground in winter, and new growth is slow to appear in spring.
