An old-fashioned cottage garden self-seeding biennial plant, this dwarf hybrid strain produces showy clusters of fragrant flowers with deep red petals. Developed to flower well even in the first year, remove fading flowers to encourage more buds to form but allow some to set seed. Pruning plants back hard after blooming will encourage them to survive for another year. Self-sown seedlings may be moved in fall or early spring.
