A deciduous shrub native to swampy woodlands, wet marshes, and stream banks. Noted for mid to late summer bloom of incredibly fragrant white flowers which appear in upright panicles. Flowers give way to dark brown seeds which may persist into winter. Flowers attract hordes of butterflies and bees.
NATIVE TO THE SOUTHERN AND EASTERN U.S.
‘Hummingbird’ grows 2-4′ and sports white blooms.
