Large heart-shaped, dark green leaves are variegated with shimmering silver. They remain semi-evergreen through mild winters. In spring, 2″ wide, dark purple flowers are produced under the foliage. This vigorous rhizomatic grower forms a thick mat of foliage, making it an excellent groundcover for shade gardens. It’s showy enough for containers. Plant can overwinter in zone 5 with protection.
