This easy-to-grow heirloom garden plant thrives in average soil in full sun to partial shade with very little care. These biennial plants bloom their second year and self-seed generously to establish colonies in the garden that persist for years as if they were perennials. Pink, yellow, red, lavender, and white flowers grow on towering spikes reaching up to 5-8′ tall and do not require staking. Foliage features large, heart-shaped leaves which become progressively smaller toward the top of the spire. Long bloom period from June through August.
