‘Autumn Blaze’ maple

Acer x freemanii 'Autumn Blaze'

A naturally occurring hybrid maple that is the result of a cross between Acer rubrum and Acer saccharinum. Wild specimens are found in eastern North America where the parent species overlap. ‘Autumn Blaze’ is a hardy, reliable, fast-growing selection with upright branching and a well-balanced, broadly oval head. Brilliant orange-red in fall. A seedless variety selected in the late 1960s.
