Downy Phlox

Phlox pilosa

These long-blooming perennials thrive in rocky or dry open woods, meadows, and prairies. An upright phlox that grows in a clump to 12-16″ tall on strong stems. Fragrant, pink to pale purple flowers bloom from May to July, often reblooming in fall. Butterflies love the flowers!

Native from Connecticut to Ontario south to Louisiana and Florida, west to Kansas.
