Sometimes called oak sedge, this clumping sedge grows to 15-20″ tall. It is native to North America from Quebec and Ontario south to Florida and Texas. Narrow, upright-arching, bright green blades grow to 16″ in tufts, colonizing to form a nice groundcover. Flowers bloom in late spring on 20″ stems. Excellent in masses and groups. Good selection for shade/part shade garden groundcover and lawn alternative in shade. Great year-round interest. This is an excellent sedge for difficult dry shaded areas.
