wild senna

Cassia hebecarpa

Round, pea-like foliage on 4-6′ tall plants with dark yellow, pea-like blooms in summer. We love this plant! It doesn’t wilt, doesn’t seem picky about soil type and it provides height for the partial shade garden. Sun to part shade.

NATIVE TO THE EASTERN HALF OF THE U.S.

Larval host to cloudless sulphur, sleepy orange, and orange-barred sulphur butterflies. Of special value to native bumble bees.
