A small tree growing 20–25’ tall with a rounded crown. Creamy white, fragrant, single flowers grow in dense clusters of panicles to 12” long. Blooms later than most other species of lilac – late May to early June. Elliptic to ovate, dark green leaves and attractive reddish-brown bark.
This tree is extremely hardy and adaptable, and is therefore frequently used for city street tree plantings.
