x carnea ‘Briotii’ (red horsechestnut) is a 30–40’ tall tree with dusty red blooms on large 8-10” panicles appear in mid-spring. Prefers full sun or light shade and moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil.

glabra  is a native of the Great Plains. Found in the open may reach 60’ tall by 30’ wide, but as a native understory it is often half that size. Since colonial times, buckeyes have been carried as good luck charms!
