Foliage:

Soft, thick, woolly silver foliage stays low to the ground. 12-15″ flower stalks emerge in summer and are covered with dark purple flowers. Stalks can be cut off where plants are used as edging. Foliage persists well into winter, and plants spread vigorously. Wonderful color and texture contrast plant.

‘Silver Carpet’ is a selection that differs from other stachys in that it rarely flowers.
